There has been a few discussions recently about resetting the world/server.

When people bring this up, I say no straight away because of all the builds on the server. I wouldn't want to take anything away from people who have worked hard, even if one person said no to a reset then I couldn't do it. I mostly think of everything that froth has built, Dom's new mansion and Tokes' wizard tower; these are just the things I've seen recently.

A full reset would mean...
- A completely new world generated in 1.12;
- All ranks reset, even donations. Donators may receive a small compensation such as keys.
- All skills reset (time played would remain)
- All items, rp, keys etc. removed.

The world generation wouldn't be too different. The world started in 1.7 and isn't missing anything, there is even a mansion near the border. We would get more mansions and strongholds and igloos, but it still wouldn't take long for them to be plundered.

With a full reset, I would have a chance to implement some ideas that I've had.
Such as..
A complete overhaul of trading cards; all new images and new method of obtaining and collecting. Stick to the original 2 classes (normal and holo), and each series release of ~100 cards would have it's own pack so if you want new cards you won't be getting old ones.
It would be an opportunity to set up an economy. I would make all items buyable/sellable using a virtual shop, similar to the rewards shop.

The idea of a subscription based donation system was briefly mentioned. Donation ranks would be cheaper but only last for a month. You could purchase multiple months at once so you don't have to worry about a lapse. People who have donated may receive something small like th keys.


Other reset options:
- Reset the world and nothing else. This is my least liked idea, it's just removing all the builds and that's what holds me back from a full reset.
- Reset everything except for donations (it's fair for those who paid, but doesn't leave much room for change to donations)
- Reset everything except for the world. All items would be removed from chests but the buildings would remain.


I would prefer a full reset or nothing at all.
I can't decide if I want a reset or not. It would be a great opportunity to start a fresh adventure and all of the ideas above sound great, but the current world has a lot of history from the past 3 and a half years. I love my maze, and it's an activity for people to enjoy, I'd miss it and probably wouldn't be bothered to make a new one. Emerald City, Colosseum, Frothlands, The Cube, the Courthouse, the fishing dome, all of these would be gone. But new areas will be made and they will become a new part of Acid Mines history. Art from the creative world could probably be transferred, it is a small world.

With a reset, I would prefer not to copy anything over. However, if you do like the idea of a reset but can't stand the thought of losing something specific, let me know and we can discuss the options. Froth's city that is currently being built is pretty big to copy, but I would attempt it if that was the only thing stopping us.

I would like to hear everybody's opinion on this. Let me know what you think of all of the ideas above. Everybody will need to agree; I'm not going to do anything that will make someone want to quit because they lost their hard work.

Would it be possible instead of trying to copy the city to chop away the rest of the world & make it a mini world like the Halloween world or the Grid etc?

Personally I don't mind if you reset. It's always fun with a fresh slate. Make sure we get a decent amount of warning so everyone can take screenshots though. Very Happy

I can make the city it's own world, I did think of that and it would be easier. Is it okay for it to just be floating in nothingness? Does the ocean matter at all?

I'm down for the full reset as mentioned, I also think the subbed idea would be good, especially for those who might not have that 25$ to get the gold pack. Give them what they want and when it runs out, they'll come back for more ;D

I would not won't to be you at the moment Psp, this would be such a head#### for you.
I have tried a lot of servers before this one and this is the only one I enjoy for two reasons,
It's Aussy, & I like the people here. (No BS and help full.)

I don't know much on how servers work but;
Can you up grade to 1.12 leaving everything as it is, or
Reset and up grade to 1.12 but leaving rank and donations as is,
just my thought.

By the way Psp you have done a good job ruining the server and the build on here are great and are a credit to all who have built them.
What ever your decision I for one will still support you and your server.

If the reset didn't happen, we would continue on with 1.12 as normal.

Another idea that I thought of last night, I'll just post it here because I haven't written it down yet and I will forget:
No + gear for skill armour, all skill pieces start at 1% xp boost and you can level up the gear by using it. As you gain xp while wearing the skill armour, it will level up and provide more of a boost.
Because the current skill armour already exists, this idea would only work if all items were reset.

a Duck load of time and effort, sleepless nights building/grinding skills on two accounts over 300 days.. plus all the hard earned cash spent on everything.. it seems like most if not all of the ideas for a fresh server could be implemented in the current... subbed donations, cards, skills gear..

Im not certain but my initial thought is i doubt id put in same time/effort and cash just to do it all over again...

There we go. I thought everyone was agreeing to the reset a little too easy. But now the person who has by far put in the most time and effort is against it. Can't do it if the MVP doesn't want it.

The MVP has spoken. My thoughts though is that I was kinda excited for a reset but also worried. Not worried for my stuff, but what other people have put so much time in. I know my interests would be peaked again if we restarted because currently I feel like I have accomplished everything I wanted to. But the time and effort put in by people is different per individual. But I'm the Lazy one so....... Bajafish Killer Bunny

The people who want a fresh start... Go buy a new account and start again... No need to make everyone loose everything because you can't think of new things to do.. It's not like everyone's got all 150's and all rank 50's there's still plenty to do

Why not make a new world? u enter everything is new, ranks and all, than you can re-enter the acidmines so that way people who wouldnt mind a fresh start can play on both, it may be hard to have it so you dont transfer items and stuff but if this could be done it would be great
